Beer, beaches, and babes – spring break 2011

October 27, 2010

So you stumbled here on to my blog in search of a couple of things…beer, beaches, and babes…right?

Well maybe not exactly (if your a female spring breaker), but I am sure you were searching the internet for a few items on Spring Break 2016!

The hot spots for spring break 2016 are the usual:  Cancun, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Panama City Florida or South Padre Island Texas!

HERE ARE THE 4 STEPS TO PLANNING YOUR 2016 SPRING BREAK TRIP!

STEP # 1: Find out when your school goes on spring break!

I already did that for you! I have listed them all here on my blog. To find your school’s spring break date  Click here  (opens in a new window)

STEP # 2: Figure out a budget…(i.e. save some beer money!)

I can help you do that too.  It’s important to have a budget, so you’ll need to save some money.  To see how to budget and what an average trip will cost check my blog post on it Click here (opens in a new window)

STEP #3:  Choose a destination/hotel that fits your budget.

So if you can afford it and have $2000 per person to spend for 7 nights (including airfare) of all out crazyness…check out the private villas in Acapulco…or headquarter properties like the Oasis Cancun Resort.  Private villas run from $1700 – $2000 per person.  The Oasis Cancun runs about $1400 – $1500 per person but…IT’S ALL YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK.

For a 7 night vacation  with all you can eat and drink including your flight plan to spend:

Cancun $999 – $1600 per person

Acapulco $899 – $1800 per person

The Bahamas $999 – $1500 per person

Puerto Vallarta from $1000 – $1500 per person

Jamaica from $800 – $1300 per person

Party Cruises from $400 – $699 per person

STEP # 4: Choose a company secure and legitimate travel company to book your trip.

On the internet these days there are hundreds of ways to book a spring break trip.  There are people claiming to operate spring break trips in all these foreign countries, when really they are just a “mom and pop” travel agency.  They have no parties, no MTV, no free meals and drinks…and most of all no staff from their offices to pick you up at the airport and bring you to your hotel and be there to help you if there is trouble.  In the past 8 years I have travelled with several small companies but have not found any to be as comprehensive and low priced as Studentcity.com

They are a publicly traded company on the stock exchange (so they aren’t “mom and pop”) and they are the largest student travel company in the USA!  They are also the official travel partner of MTV.  You can see them on “The Real World Cancun” airing Wed. nights on MTV.  Spring Break is all that they do and they send about 40 staff to every destination to make sure your having the best time, and if you need help…they are right there to help you out!  Also know they are the low price leader, but if you do happen to find a lower price…they’ll BEAT it!

Here is a link to their website: www.studentcity.com

Whether you choose to travel with Studentcity.com or someone else, please use your head and make smart decisions.  Be safe and have the time of your life.

For more info on spring break safety read my blog page about it here!

ALSO…if you are looking to start your own spring break or student travel company, check out our friends a W Tour & Travel Group.  They charge no up front fees, and don’t make you sign a contract, however they will make you a ton of money.  They will help you build a business plan, sales/marketing plan, help you get your company on college campuses and more!  Check them out at http://www.yourtravelstartup.com

Spring Break On a Budget?

July 19, 2009

spring-break-panama-city-beach-mtvu

Okay…so I have been getting alot of questions on how to have a pimped out spring break on a budget.

This is an easy question for me to answer…why…because I was always on a budget in college.

Here are a couple of ways to go for cheap or maybe even FREE.

#1 – GO ON SPRING BREAK FREE!
How you ask? Easy! There is a company that will actually provide you with a 100% free trip if YOU organize a group of 16 people to go with you. This is not a scam and the company has been doing this for 23 years. If you organize a group of 24 or more, you’ll not only receive your spring break trip for free, but also VIP status while on spring break (includes celeb meet and greets, private tables in the night clubs, and VIP dinners). If you start planning your trip early, you should see how easy it is to get 16 people together.  Vist www.studentcity.com and click on “Travel Free” to learn more

# 2 – Go Domestic.
It’s like choosing Corona or Bud Light…I say choose the Bud LightTo really stick to a good budget stay in the U.S. or take a cruise. The top two U.S. Spring Break Destinations are Panama City Beach Florida, and South Padre Island Texas. That being said, most students road trip to these destinations and usually end up spending $500 for 7 nights of hotel, food, and booze. The beach is the biggest party spot in these destinations. The day drinking is crazy. Take last year in Panama City for Example. Studentcity.com and MTV brought down Lil’ Wayne and did a huge concert on the beach for 20,000+ people. For the best possible package deals (hotels, concerts, night clubs, and food) in one easy package.

# 3 – GO INTERNATIONAL ON A BUDGET!
Yes, you’ll need a passport and you’ll want to plan on spending $700 – $1200 per person, but remember…international destinations offer “all-inclusive” (meaning all you can eat and drink including booze). Whereas it is illegal for hotel properties in the U.S. to offer all-inclusive. Here are a couple of examples:

2010 Bahamas Party Cruise and Stay Vacation (all you can eat and drink) $600 per person

2010 Acapulco all suite hotel with airfare (all you can eat and drink) 5 nights $800 per person

2010 Cancun all you can eat and drink with airfare for 7 nights $999 per person

# 4 – BOOK YOUR TRIP EARLY AND USE A COMPANY THAT WILL LET YOU MAKE MONTLY PAYMENTS.

If you book your trip with a reputable student travel company.  They’ll allow you to finance your package and make monthly payments.  Companies like Studentcity.com allow you to put down a single payment of $100 to start and then make monthly payments.  Some students still groan even about this.  But if your smart think of budgeting for spring break like this.  If you go out twice a weekend to the bars on campus your spending $40 each time.  So thats $80 a weekend in boozing and/ 0r $320 a month in boozing.  By all means go out, but do some pre-gaming first and cut your nightly expenditure at the bars to $20 (go to the bars on the $1 draft nights).  So if you do this your cutting your expenditure in half to $160 a month.  This leaves you an additional $160 to plan a pimped out all you can eat and drink, vacation to some where exotic.  Take this $160 times 7 months and you have $1120 towards a trip.  Studentcity.com lets you make  monthly payments on internaional trips.  So there you have it…quit bitching…save some cash and go have the most amazing 7 days of your life in Mexico!!!

If you have questions, need a price quote or just want more info on spring break…leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you with the info you requested.

SEE YOU ON THE BEACH!

Travel Websites Offer Discounts for 2011 Spring Break

May 22, 2009

Spring Break tour operators are already discounting their trips for 2010 travel.  It seems the tour companies are finally getting more savvy as students have less money to spend due to the economy.  Pricing compared to 2009 is several percentage points less.  Rediculous discounts including pricing on Bahamas Party Cruises, Panama City Beach (home of the MTV stage), and Cancun.

Lowest pricing on international spring break seems to be Jamaica.  With the swine flu challenges and drug wars Jamaica seems to be looking more attractive to students.

The following are the best websites to earn a FREE trip for organizing a group and/or your best deal on spring break 2010 packages:

Cheapspringbreak.com, Springbreakvillas.com, Studentcity.com, Supercheapspringbreak.com
